Ingredients
- ground chuck 8 oz.
- medium onion (sliced) 1
- fresh thyme (minced) 1 Tbsp.
- butter (divided) 3 Tbsp.
- Swiss cheese 3 slices
- rye bread 2 slices
- Best Foods Mayonnais (divided) 1/2 cup
- ketchup 1 Tbsp.
- yellow mustard 1 tsp
- sweet relish 1 Tbsp.
- garlic powder 1/2 tsp
- salt & pepper to taste

Directions
Carmelize the onions

Begin by caramelizing the sliced onion.

Add 2 Tbsp butter to a medium size pan.

Add the onions and cook over medium low heat stirring frequently.

After approximately 30 minutes, the onions should be soft, tender and deeply caramelized.

Next, add the fresh chopped thyme, season with salt and pepper and set aside.
For the dressing

Mix 1/3 cup of Best Foods Mayonnaise with ketchup, mustard and relish.

Season with garlic powder, salt & pepper and stir well and set aside.
For the beef patty

Take 8 oz ground chuck and form a patty to fit the size and shape of your bread.

Fire up the grill and cook to desired doneness.
Assemble the sandwich

Melt remaining Tbsp of butter and mix with remaining Best Foods Mayonnaise and spread evenly on one side of both slices of bread.

Preheat a cast iron pan over the open flames and add both slices of bread butter-side down to start forming the crust.

Add a layer of Russian dressing on both pieces of bread then add 1 1/2 slices of Swiss cheese to both pieces of bread.

Top one side with the burger patty and the caramelized onions then fold remaining bread on top to close the sandwich.

Flip back and forth until golden brown and crispy crunchy.

Cut in half and serve immediately.
