Easy to prepare, this cheesy potatoes recipe is the perfect side dish.


  • 1 kg red Desiree potatoes, sliced into 1 cm pieces
  • 3 dollops Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 75 ml white wine
  • 125 ml semi-skimmed milk
  • 200 ml Elmlea Double
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 25 g Gruyère, grated
  • 25 g Parmesan, grated

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C, 180°C fan, Gas mark 5.

  2. Cover the potatoes with water and boil for 5 minutes to soften a little, then drain.

  3. In a large pan, add the Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise, garlic, white wine, milk, Elmlea Double and pepper, and mix well. Bring to the boil, then add the part cooked potatoes and simmer for 5 minutes.

  4. Pour potatoes and sauce evenly into a baking dish. Sprinkle with the Gruyère and Parmesan. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until golden and bubbling.
