Rated 1 out of 5 by Laurie from Terrible taste! I bought the organic mayonnaise to use in potato salad. I went so far as to use organic potatoes and eggs, needless to say it was a costly dish. Made a large batch for a cookout at a friend's house. Towards the end of the day, I noticed very little had been eaten and was curious to know why, so I tasted it myself. The worst potato salad I ever had. Had an off, somewhat weirdly sweet taste. So I wound up throwing at least 3/4 of the batch away. Sad, since I normally expect everything I use the regular mayo for to be good, the organic shouldn't make it any different. So besides wasting a lot of money to make it, I was also very embarrassed that I served something that tasted bad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by thornns52 from What is In This Alleged Mayo? I bought this thinking - Hmmm, I love Hellman's Mayo. Maybe organic would taste even better. Nope. As several other reviews have noted, there's an immediate smell when you open the jar that seems to indicate something's not right...spoiled? not really but definitely off. THEN, there's the taste. I've read and re-read the ingredients. How can such a simple mix of ingredients result in such an awful flavor. I've tried two different uses - hoping the dusty / chemical flavor might not be noticeable. WRONG - actually overwhelmed both a tuna sandwich and a veggie sandwich. As others have said - glad it's a small jar - but expensive - and going in the trash.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Asmith64 from Terrible "Mayonnaise" I am a huge fan of regular Hellman's mayonnaise so I was excited to find an organic version. Tell me, Hellman's, did anyone there actually taste this before giving it the go ahead? Did anyone compare its taste to your regular Mayo? It's clear the answer is no. This is nothing more than runny Miracle Whip with a huge price mark-up. It completely lacks that classic mayonnaise flavor and I can't figure out what would possibly go well with this organic version. Definitely avoid this if you're looking for a normal Mayo flavor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ElizainBoston from Terrible. I am a loyal Hellmann's consumer - I don't like any other mayo because they all taste sweet. Hellmann's has always stayed pure and not added any type of sugar. Naturally, when I saw that they made an organic version, I assumed the taste would be the same. Not the case. I was SO disappointed when I took my first bite - it tasted like all the other gross mayo out there - sweet. Sugar has no place in mayo - it should be savory! I looked at the label, and sure enough, "organic dried cane syrup" - AKA sugar. I eat organic whenever possible, but this I cannot do. Brand new jar is in the trash now. Come on Hellmann's, stick to your winning recipe. Leave the sugar (in any form) out! It's garbage and most importantly it tastes terrible.

Just about everything else we buy is organic, but we had never found an organic mayo that lived up to the taste of Hellmann's. I purchased a jar of Hellmann's Organic Mayo within two days of learning it existed. Unfortunately, we all feel that the organic mayo tastes different than the regular Hellmann', and it is not different in a better way. Our search for a yummy organic mayo continues, sadly. I'll not be purchasing this product again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by legraden from Thrilled Organic but........ I love Hellman's and was thrilled to hear that they were coming out with an Organic Hellman's Mayo. But after trying (2 jars), it did not measure up. I don't know how it can taste totally different from the Regular Hellman's, but it does. If it has the same ingredients but only organic, how can it taste soooo different. Going back to old Hellman's but please keep trying to go organic and let us know by marking the jar with new and improved organic. Till then I will stick with Hellman's Original.

I really wanted to like it and I assumed that we would. My family and I unfortunately just did not care for it. My girls both said that it had a funny tangy taste and a funny color. I really did not notice the color but My husband and I did not care for the flavor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by NH45 from Horible aftertaste I've been consuming Hellmanns brand mayo for over 40 years. I typically stick to the good old original standard, dabbled unhappily with the low fat and have fallen in love with your Olive oil version. Then, I tried the Organic. NOT the greatest thing since sliced bread, not even close. I mixed up the contents first then tried it straight from the jar. I attempted to remain optimistic & open minded, but I could barely swallow the half teaspoon I tasted. Still open minded I used it on one of my standard ham & cheese sandwiches for comparison. Well, sorry to say it was a waste of a sandwich. It tasted no better. I'm glad I got a small jar. Not everything organic is better. It took the rest of the afternoon and brushing my teeth to get the taste out my mouth. Chemical aftertaste is not what I expected.
