When people make potatoes, the peels are often thrown out. However, you can make a tasty snack with these little peels, just by crisping them up.
There are two types of food waste. The first is avoidable food waste that makes up 63% of the total. This is when food produced makes it to market but isn’t purchased. The second is unavoidable food waste, which makes up the remainder. This is when inedible by-products of our food are wasted, such as bones, eggshells, vegetable skins and potato peels. But what many people are unaware of is that most by-products can actually be eaten. Here’s a tip on how you can use your leftover potato peels to make a tasty snack!
