HELLMANN’S REAL FOOD MOVEMENT

Hellmann’s believes that real food is too precious to waste. Since 2007, we’ve been taking a stand with The Real Food Movement. We’ve teamed up with food waste experts La Tablée des Chefs and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment to help Canadians conserve more food.

HELLMANN’S AND LA TABLÉE DES CHEFS PARTNER TOGETHER TO MAKE TASTE, NOT WASTE

What is La Tablée des Chefs? La Tablée is a charity with the mission to feed and educate – feed today to reduce food insecurity and educate youth to develop food autonomy. Their 3 pillars are around Feeding, Educating and hosting Culinary Activities. 

THE REAL FOOD RESCUE PROGRAM

Jean-François Archambault is an Ashoka fellow and food waste crusader. As the CEO and founder of La Tablée des Chefs, Jean-François has been the catalyst to change the way the food industry thinks about waste, and has developed a solution to safely and quickly rescue unused food. Since 2003, Jean-François and La Tablée des Chefs has rescued over 1000 tons of food, feeding more than 7 million people with food recovered from restaurants, hotels, hockey arenas and other local establishments. Hellmann’s is proud to partner with Jean-François & La Tablée des Chefs by supporting their innovative Real Food Rescue™ program to rescue leftover food from stadiums and turn them into delicious meals for those in need.

THE KITCHEN BRIGADES

The Kitchen Brigades is an extra-curricular program offered in high schools to youth aged 12 to 17 years old, with workshops on basic cooking techniques and healthy eating habits.

 

Hellmann’s has partnered with La Tablée des Chefs to expand the Kitchen Brigades to more schools across Canada, with the goal of reaching 10,000 students across 450 schools by 2025. Through these workshops, Hellmann’s educates students on the issue of food waste in Canada and provides helpful techniques for reducing their waste.

LA TABLÉE DES CHEFS

Jean-François Archambault is an Ashoka fellow and food waste crusader. Hellmann’s is proud to partner with Jean-François to launch the Real Food Rescue™ program, bringing his unique food rescue formula to Scotiabank Arena where we’ll redistribute approximately 50,000 meals to the real people who need it most.

    Take The #JARCHALLENGE

    47% of food waste in Canada happens within our own households. The average Canadian wastes about seven 810 mL jars of food in just one week! To reduce waste among Canadians, Hellmann’s launched the Jar Challenge which encourages food waste to be limited to one jar per week. This challenge is offered to students in Kitchen Brigades program to increase mindfulness around food preparation, consumption, and repurposing. Try the Jar Challenge at home this week!
