Caramelized French Onion Dip

  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 red onion, julienned
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 cup Hellmann's® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. chili flakes
  • 1 tsp. ground white pepper
  • Kosher salt (to taste)


  1. In a sauté pan over medium high heat add oil and onions. Sauté for 3 minutes and then reduce heat to low and add sugar. Cook onions on low for 20 minutes; remove and cool.
  2. In a mixing bowl add Hellmann's® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, chili flakes and white pepper. Stir in cooled carmelized onions and season with salt to taste.
